Currently, Yale IRB can serve as the single IRB of record for small (up to 5 sites) federally funded research projects. Requests for support to use Yale IRB as the sIRB and an estimate of IRB review costs must be submitted to the HRPP Office using a Qualtrics Questionnaire below. Please, allow 2 to 3 business days to receive a response.
The process of submitting protocols to Yale IRB for multi-site research, the responsibilities of the Yale/YNHHS PIs, and the responsibilities of the local investigators from the relying sites are described in the Investigator Manual. If this is the first time Yale IRB serves as the sIRB for any of the studies of the investigator requesting the review, a live training with an HRPP representative will be required.
