The mission of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) is to support the research enterprise at Yale University. ORA is led by the Senior Associate Provost for Research Administration and includes Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), Conflict of Interest Office (COI), Animal Research Support, Export Controls, Office of Research Compliance, Office of Sponsored Projects, Research Integrity, and the Office of Research Enterprise Operations (OREO).
In addition, the Senior Associate Provost for Research Administration is the Institutional Official (IO) for Yale’s Human Research Protection Program and the Institutional Animal Care and Use program. As a central organization, ORA collaborates with multiple groups to provide expertise and deliver effective research administration services to support faculty and staff in soliciting, securing and managing extramural project funding.
Committed to conducting quality animal research in an ethical and responsible manner.
The Provost’s Committee on COI is charged with identifying and addressing any potential, actual, and apparent conflicts of interest resulting from related external interests.
In order to ensure compliance with Export Controls, Yale faculty and staff need to identify when their activities may trigger such regulations.
HRPP is responsible for the protection of the rights and welfare of human subjects in research projects conducted at Yale,.
ORC provides support to the Office of Research Administration (ORA) and its mission. A
Research Integrity & Security Office provides support and guidance to the research community with information and resources regarding international collaborations.
Training is conducted on a regular basis for faculty, students, and staff to promote the understanding of compliance requirements and ethical practices.
